Research interest

Business intelligence in supply chain and operations

How can descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics be combined into decision-support frameworks that improve forecasting, inventory and capacity planning, distribution efficiency, and resilience to disruption?

A closely related question is what organizational conditions decide whether those frameworks actually change decisions: data quality at the point of collection, interoperability across siloed systems, governance and documentation standards, and the analytical capability of the people expected to use the output.

My published survey work on analytics and AI adoption has begun to address these barriers, and my coursework and professional practice are built on real transactional and operational data from commercial, public-sector, and humanitarian settings. I am drawn to empirical work whose value can be judged by whether the insight is adopted and produces a measurable performance outcome.

Integrating Business Intelligence and Data Analytics to Optimize End-to-End Supply Chain Performance in U.S. Manufacturing and Logistics NetworksSole author

Turja, T. S.

Frontiers in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, 4(4), 62–70. Read the article

A framework for combining descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics across demand forecasting, inventory, transportation planning, and resilience. Integrated BI capability is linked to better real-time visibility, lower operating cost, and faster disruption response; data silos, weak interoperability, and limited organizational readiness are the main barriers. This paper frames the questions I want to pursue next.
